A Hole

The Sufi poet Shams-ud-din Muhammad Hafiz wrote about Christ:

I am
a hole in a flute
that the Christ's breath moves through-
listen to this
music.

Empty. It is a challenging purpose - to remain empty. At times it seems that I clog the hole... opportunities for kindnesses ignored - unkind words that never should have been spoken...
But I suppose that is where the Musicians' soft cleaning rag comes in :)

I like musical analogies!
