Returning from Brazil...
My skin is still surpirsed when hot water comes out of the faucet...
The roads seem too smooth - the cars too nice - and the drivers so polite...
I feel chilled in air conditioning...
Using a washer and dryer is such a luxury...
And a cell phone? Well it's kind of nice to be able to hear my favorite voices on the other side :)

:) It was so nice to get a voicemail from you on Sunday! I found it VERY nice to hear your voice on the other end. I'm glad you're back! Teddy has been here today and we were talking about camp at lunch. I wish you were here! I know you would have lots of great ideas!
I know what you mean. . .
Isn't it strange? The roads, buckling your seatbelt, not squishing 10 people into a car only designed for 5, polite salespeople, sleeping with covers at night... yes... strange indeed.
I had forgotten.
But now I remember.
Distinctly.
Caitlin!!! I can't wait to see you at Southern! What are you up to this summer? When did you come back? I missed you a lot!
... on the seatbelt thought :)
Saralyn and I got her her car to go somewhere and then after a minute she turned and said "You do have to wear your seat belt - you are back in the states now!"
I hadn't even thought about it - it is odd how one can lose a life long habit so quickly.
Martina - I will be working at Cherokee this summer, and then coming back to Southern in the fall. Can't wait to see you!
I missed hot water more than anything else. Even after 8 years, and even living in the tropics, I never got used to the shock of the cold spring water.
