Meet Shaila Rose - my dear sister - the only one of my sisters who isn't adopted ;)
Shaila just graduated from Georgia Cumberland Academy this past weekend, and will be working at Camp Cherokee this summer! So many of you who are reading this will be getting to know her soon! And the rest of you when school starts at Southern - or at another yet to be determined time in the future :)
The kids in the picture above are her own adopted siblings that she has helped raise during her past four years at GCA.
She created her first blog today!
So for all you blog-hoppers here is the link:

Brazil
Looking out from the little Adventist church that is flooded by the rising river. The Amazon rises, on average, 20 meters during the rainy season - this year it is already reaching record levels and there is the month of June left for the waters to rise. The church members here lost all their crops due to the flooding. We stopped here on the way back from doing a clinic in Manacaparu to leave food supplies with the members.

Surprised Skin
Returning from Brazil...
My skin is still surpirsed when hot water comes out of the faucet...
The roads seem too smooth - the cars too nice - and the drivers so polite...
I feel chilled in air conditioning...
Using a washer and dryer is such a luxury...
And a cell phone? Well it's kind of nice to be able to hear my favorite voices on the other side :)
